Are you or someone you know living with a low mood or depression?

There is help available.

Depression can affect anyone. People with depression can find it hard to find pleasure in activities that they would usually enjoy. They can have a persistent low mood and trouble thinking clearly or concentrating. It can also cause tiredness, tearfulness, loss of appetite, feelings of guilt and helplessness and lack of control. Does this sound like you or someone you know?

Whether it is you or someone you know who is living with these symptoms the effects can be devastating, destroying friendships and breaking up family units leading to loneliness and isolation. It can also be that you feel stuck in a situation that will never get better, that life will always be in monochrome and that thriving is not an option. Whether you’re caring for someone with depression or you’re living with depression yourself, opening up to someone can help.

Counselling can help with consistency in helping you to cope with the stress or mundaneness of everyday life. It can help you to get in touch with what is underlying your depression or how supporting someone else with depression is affecting you. We are able to respond quickly; a first appointment with a counsellor can happen within two weeks of making contact, giving you a chance of a positive outcome and new ways to engage. You can feel lighter by stepping forward.
